Fueled by a passion for riding and a little luck Highland Mountain Bike Park became a reality in July of 2003. The vision of creating the ultimate place to ride was shared by a tight group of dedicated riders. Of this group two riders emerged to turn a vision into a mission.The first step was to find the right piece of land in the right location for the right price. The place that fit our criteria was the old Highlands Mountain Ski Area in Northfield, New Hampshire. After a day of hiking the area it was obvious that this was the place; the right location, the right price and most of all a seemingly endless amount of potential lines.The daunting task of reviving the old area after being neglected for 8 years began on a weekend in the fall of 2003 with a big group of friends at hand to help with the initial clean up. Now after almost 2 years of work the HMBP team is focused on building a world class bike park that will change the way East Coast riders perceive lift accessed mountain biking.
